Greystones, gets its first Personal Training Gym, a gym with a difference…
Greystones, voted one of the worlds most livable towns, now has a full stable.
It now boasts, a running track, rubgy, football and GAA pitches, Tennis courts, a Lifeguarded Beach, 2 golf courses, a driving range, a Public gym and swimming pool, a Yoga Studio and a Curves. It just needed that personal touch and higher level of service that people need when attending to their health and so Pura Vida Fitness is to be launched this September.
Adam Kelly, who is behind the Pura Vida project, was also the founder of Zest Fitness, 10 years ago. He says, I started out personal training in Greystones, before we moved to a larger premises in Bray. I always felt Greystones, was where I wanted to be, and was going to end up working, so here I am back, in the town.
The Gym was christened after a phrase that Adam and his wife, Jane came across, while on honeymoon in Costarica.
Pura Vida , literally translated means “Pure Life.” “Full of Life” “Purified life”, “This is living!”, “Going great!”
The gym in its own unique private garden on the Southside of Greystones, and is set to include, just as much outdoor exercise activity as indoors.
The building was bought by Adam, from Diarmad Gavin and Shomera Buildings, who built this unique wood and glass structure, to win the Chelsea flower show in 2008 in which it won the Silver medal award.
“The idea of this venue and building, is for my clients to escape from the tough reality of modern living, and retreat to a tranquil sanctuary, in which to exercies and relax, and is only 1km from the heart of Greystones Town centre,’ says Adam.
“I have always dreamt of having an beautiful gym, with a huge outdoor, but private area to exercise with clients in. The fact that is is beside the sea is a bonus.”
